Maarten Walraven has a PhD in History and works at the intersection of music and media. He's co-project lead for the Water & Music Academy, co-editor of MUSIC x, a newsletter on music tech, and is head of Operations at Symphony.live, a streaming video platform created in collaboration with some of the world’s leading symphonic orchestras. He also just started Wild Awake, a music project focused on building scenes that uses web3 technology.

We discussed the importance of scenes, and of composers and artists who grant creative license to others that create, the correlation between music and identity, and the importance of designing for deeper relationships in a world that still prioritizes the follower count.
